Two San Antonio-area cities named top 10 safest in Texas, San Antonio fared much worse
San Antonio ranks near bottom of the list for safest cities in Texas

SAN ANTONIO – SafeWise recently ranked the safest cities in Texas and there’s good news and bad news depending on where you live in the San Antonio area.
The good news is that two incorporated cities in our area made the top ten for safest cities in the state. Fair Oaks Ranch came in at No. 3 and Helotes took the No. 9 spot on the list.
However, San Antonio came in very close to last place, ranking 251 out of 266.

After breaking one last subfreezing record, San Antonio welcomed sunshine and more seasonal temperatures Saturday with warmer, dry weather expected for most of the week.
A new ranking from data provider HomeSnacks ranked the wealthiest cities in Texas for 2021.
The company, which only considered places with a population of at least 5,000, analyzed several factors to determine where the state’s 1 percent live: poverty rate, median household income, and unemployment rate, as well as a look at “where the richest of the rich live.” All in all, 353 of the state’s communities were included in the ranking.
So what city topped the list? San Antonio suburb Terrell Hills earned the distinction a the state’s wealthiest city yet again. The affluent alcove some five miles northeast of downtown San Antonio topped HomeSnacks’ 2020 and 2019 lists of the Lone Star State’s richest cities.

A new ranking from data provider HomeSnacks shows the Tarrant County city that s home to pro athletes, CEOs, and California transplants climbed from No. 8 on the 2020 list of Texas’ wealthiest cities to No. 5 on this year’s list. To come up with the ranking, HomeSnacks looked at median household income, poverty rates, and unemployment rates for Texas cities with at least 5,000 residents. Therefore, the ranking isn’t based solely on how rich a city’s residents are. Still, you’re curious about the cash, right?
