After a one-year hiatus due to the covid-19 pandemic, the Oakmont Hometown Christmas celebration was back in action this year, and it picked up right where it left off with an entire evening of family-friendly holiday fun Nov. 20. A massive crowd packed Allegheny River Boulevard for the 5 p.m.
Plum’s Monday Market continues with new produce and items from familiar vendors.
The weekly event is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through October at Plum Creek Park along New Texas Road.
Bridge’s Farm and Greenhouse, one of the major participants, brought peaches, zucchini, honey, tomatoes and more this month. Farmers said corn will be available very soon.
New clothing and textiles from newcomer Red Truck Mercantile were on display at the July 12 market.
Residents and people from various communities, including Greensburg, patronize the market.
Other vendors include Kona Ice of Monroeville, Pappy’s Kettle Corn, Tom’s Candy, Oakmont Olive Oil Co., Bushy Run Winery, the Wax Mill, Daugherty’s Orchards in Murrysville and Morning Glory Farm in Julian.
