The demand for COVID-19 rapid testing has declined, in Adams County (which is a good thing I think). Because of that, the Adams County Health Department (ACHD) has decided to change the hours to get a rapid test done. Rapid Testing hours will now be Monday - Friday from 1 pm to 4 pm, at the Oakley-Lindsay Center, located at 300 Civic Center Plaza in Quincy.
Rapid testing will still remain free and available for anyone who lives, works, or visits Adams County. Results will be given on the same day the test is done, and results are received within 30 - 40 minutes of taking the COVID test. To make the process go faster for you, participates are asked to fill out the paperwork prior to going to the testing site. Paperwork will be available for anyone who needs it.
One Death, 32 New Adams County COVID Cases Friday
Officials also reported 32 new confirmed cases of coronavirus Friday.
The Adams County COVID case total now stands at 7,793, with 196 active, 19 hospitalized, age teens to 90s, two in intensive care and now 109 deaths.
The seven-day positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests remains steady at 2.45%.
A reminder that the Rapid COVID testing site at the Oakley Lindsay Center will be closed Sunday due to the anticipated bitter cold weather, and the site will begin its new hours Monday, with rapid testing available from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
