HOT SPRINGS Members of Knights of Columbus Council 6419 in Hot Springs were a part of a daylong drive-thru event to ensure that 1,400 people  70 or older were vaccinated against COVID-19. “The people are really excited to help out,” said John Steinhaus, financial secretary for the council and an organizer of the event. “More people would like to help, but they have conflicts, such as work, that they couldn’t take the time.” He said about 30 people, including Knights, family and friends, helped control traffic and provided information to people Feb. 23. He said 1,000 people were receiving their first shot of the Moderna vaccine and 400 others were receiving their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Another clinic will be held March 23 where people can receive their second dose.
