OAKLAND, Calif. - An Alameda County Superior Court judge has ordered the city of Oakland and its police department to promptly release thousands of documents on police misconduct investigations every two weeks within the next six months - an order the city s attorney said would likely be impossible.
The order was issued by Judge Frank Roesch on Friday and comes after journalists Darwin BondGraham and Ali Winston sued the city in September 2020 to make these records public. They were represented by Sam Ferguson of the Meade Firm in San Francisco.
