Here. There are some delays and the train is not here yet for the 6 00 a. M. San franciscobound train. This is what caused the problems. The fire was out and the train was evacuated but they had to spend the night taking equipment apart to move the equipment out of the way from the fire. It was a very complex project and took all night. Now we can move the train to the yard. We have to clean the rail. This is no damage to the rail. That is the good news. The commute is delayed at three to five minutes on the trains headed into San Francisco. There is supposed to be one at 6 00 a. M. And it is now here. As the morning progresses the delays could build. You can see there are a few passengers waiting for the 6 00 train that is still not here. Land to have some delays. Home has turned into an allnight cooperation between bart and our Fire District getting this machinery off the track. The only way was to cut it apart with torches. They think they have another hour of working on breaking the box apart. Then they can move the train. Then they have to bring in a train to move that box off the track. There is still a lot of work remaining from what they thought was a simple fire. No word open when it will be cleared. They will be single tracking through orinda so expect delays. We see commuters arriving and gathering on the platform. People are going to try to get through but it will be slower than usual. Sue will followup on that. New details in the accident that killed two bart workers. Bart has suspended a controversial policy giving track workers responsibility for their own safety.
