Some of the best can be discovered right in Mount Pleasant, which is also the birthplace of the annual Vancouver Mural Festival (VMF).
Oakland Galbraith made history at the 2020 Vancouver Mural Festival. As a 12-year-old, he was the youngest artist to create a piece of street art for the annual event. That accomplishment is celebrated in Episode 5 of the latest season (Season 6) of
CBC Arts: Exhibitionists. The documentary series streams on CBC Gem. Oakland used computer software called Photoshop to help transfer his design to the wall. His mural featured a rocket powered by Earth Day protesters who are leading people “towards the future they want.”
