This time it was spotted around the Diamond Heights neighborhood. As you can see from the map, the animal was found pretty much in the center of San Francisco. State wildlife officials released this video showing how they targeted and fratranquiliz. Melanie woodrow watched the whole thing happen. Fish and wildlife ee physicians say it took two darts to tranquilize the mountain lie on. My roommate called me and said theres a Mountain Lion prowling around. Police monitored the lion from the ground and from this rooftop with guns drawn. Its crazy right now. Officers let residents know to keep the area clear. At one point this afternoon, even creating a roadblock on Diamond Heights boulevard. More like something youd see in the sierras than San Francisco. Which may be why the lion wandered her. The lieutenant fired both darts. He says the lion would not have been able to find his way back into a wildlife dore dore on his own. It went well. He was not injured. The lieutenant says its normal
Napa is as famsz as the region its not the only part of the state known for grapes. There are more than 4600 bonded wineries in this state. Leslie brinkley visited one in livermore to see whats changed for them in a month seance the fires. Reporter wineries in livermore reported a 20 bump up this business and a sustained increase as a result of people being redirected here. I think there might be quite a change in overall perception about this area as a result of something terrible. Reporter steve berman says their phone range off the hook at this winery the last two weeks of the north bay fire for their planned corporate and personal events. Seems like this is been an increase in traffic thats been steady. It continues to increase. Reporter during the fires, cruise ships diverted passengers to livermore wine tours. We will hear from many activists who participated in the protest 50 years ago. This is about one hour and 15 minutes. I just want to say three things about the program. I will give it to you and terms of numbers. The first number is 1967. You know that we are here because of the demonstration at the pentagon and the draft resistance. Because of the resistance of the vietnamese, the growing opinion of the war. Johnson, mcnamara and west allnew that the work could not be one. It dragged on for another eight years. Public opinion with the work itself could have convinced them to stop it if johnson and company had stopped it in 1967 the massacre would not have happened. The democrats would have been elected. Kent state would not have happened. Behold what of history ebola of history would not have happened. Of to mention the millions lives that were killed after 1967. It is a shame, 14,000 u. S. Wrote one of our newsletters and it suddenly occurred to me that for people ,ow who are our age then vietnam is to them, chronologically, what world war i was for us. But not know about you, world war i did not weigh heavily on my imagination at all. The question is, why is vietnam still weighing on our imaginations . It is not so hard to understand.
