SAN ANTONIO – One man is behind bars and two women are hospitalized after a head-on crash on the Northwest Side, according to San Antonio police.
The crash happened around 7:45 p.m., Friday, in the 7700 block of Oakdell Way.
Police said two women were traveling northbound in a blue Chrysler Sebring on Oakdell Way when a red Kia Rio traveling southbound crossed over the double yellow line and entered the path of the Chrysler.
The vehicles crashed head-on and the driver of the Kia fled the scene on foot, but police were able to apprehend him not too far from the scene, officials said.

San Antonio police have arrested 33-year-old Kevin Lee Perez in connection with a man found shot to death following a car crash on the Northwest Side on Tuesday night.
Police responded to the accident at the Mossrock and Robin Hill intersection around 8 p.m. When they arrived, they found a 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his upper body and head injuries from hitting the windshield from the crash.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and has not been identified by police.

SAN ANTONIO – A man shot and killed Tuesday night as he drove along Loop 410 on the Northwest Side has been identified as 35-year-old Arnulfo Adrian Cortez.
Cortez, whose vehicle crashed through a utility pole and stanchion before colliding with a rock wall around 8 p.m. Tuesday near Mossrock Drive and Robin Hill, died from multiple gunshot wounds, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Thursday morning.
“Sounded like something I’ve never heard before. A crazy crash of things cracking and breaking. Just a super loud boom,” said a man who lives across the street from the crash scene who asked that he not be identified.
