SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Students in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) have a snow day again on Monday, March 6. This is due to the heavy snow in South Lake Tahoe over the weekend, and more forecasted Sunday night. The excessive snow is requiring additional time to make sure school sites are safe for students and staff.
The aftermath of recent winter storms is keeping some schools in Northern California closed, but others are still finding a way to keep the school day going.
The forecast shows the snow will not be letting up until the end of the night on Tuesday, and heavy snow is expected to cover roads until then, making travel hazardous. Conditions have led school districts to cancel school on Tuesday, February 28.
