We begin with jason who is tracking more rain heading our way. Jason. Jason thats right. Its going to take time but that rain is going to come in. Flood watches have been issued and theyve been out for several days now. These go until 7 oclock on thursday morning. Up to two inches additional rainfall is possible in some of these isolated areas from buncombe county south in to the southern foothills in to southern orgia. Clouds overhead. Thats the only thing we have going on. Watch here along the gulf coast, already starting to stream up northeast. The first places to get it will be the southern portions of the upstate. Also a warm front that stretched out right about here. This is just going be to the focus for more of that rain as this warm front begins to move north and west, it pushes that rainfall back in to the lets show you the potential rainfall amounts here through the day tomorrow will add up over a half an inch in asheville. We will see our chances of rain. We will see that the flood watch is still out for areas again until 7 oclock in the morning. And we still have the rain to deal with as we go down the road. Rainfall totals. Weve seen two inches or more in places south. Joining me right now is kim king out in polk county. Whats it look like there . Kim hey, jason. The weather has improved out here. I26 is moving slowly with traffic heading out of asheville area this afternoon on to this evening. Earlier today we saw some heavy rain and there was a major mudslide on the road near here on polk county. White oak Mountain Road was definitely closed. We could not immediately see from the point what the damage was. About a half mile up we could, though. With boulders sliding off the mountain. A dot crew came out and documented it. And then assessed the damage. Trees out of the road. Making sure basically that roads are open if theyre safe to open. I have been cataloging pictures in case we get reimbursement.

That fell near patton avenue. Jaclyn, how is it looking now . Jaclyn the rocks fell on the access road to the West Gate Shopping Center from patton this morning. Asheville Police Report the road is completely reopen and there are no other slides in the area. A road over in polk county is still closed after a mud slide. It happened on White Oak Mountain road outside columbus. Dot has been notified. I checked back in with dispatch and they expect the road to reopen this afternoon. We are dealing with some delays in south asheville this morning, things are slowing down on the southbound side of hendersonville road between the parkway and mills gap road. Clean up. No warnings across the area. We still have flood watches in effect. A lot of these go until 7 oclock in the morning tomorrow. But then they drop off. No additional rain expected here. We do have a few sprinkles happening but thats about it. Its really low cover and fog thats causing some issues right now. Reduced visibility across the area. A cold front is nudging it farther to the east slowly. The process is dryer and cooler. How about rainfall today . Look at the contrast from just shy of a quarter inch in burnsville to a little more than 4 10 in asheville. Two inches in greer. How about three inches in greenwood. They had major issues in greenwood today. Lots of roads flooded. It will be a foggy start. Give yourself a few extra because of that, 56 by the lunch hour. Sunshine sunshine working through.
