If not for a fifth year of eligibility on the Elon men’s golf team, John Somers ’14 wouldn’t have been on campus for the annual back-to-school block party at the Oak Hill Village apartments. And if he wasn’t at that block party, his friend Olivia wouldn’t have had the chance to introduce him to her good friend Catherine, who is now his wife.
