Waterville’s Mount Merici Academy fulfills service learning with pen-pals
The school partnered with Oak Grove Center and Mount Saint Joseph to foster connections, which developed into an art show as well.

WATERVILLE As the coronavirus pandemic persisted during the summer months last year, Maureen Rispoli and her coworkers at Mount Merici Academy brainstormed about how to bring the theme of “service” to the upcoming school year.
Rispoli, the K-8 French teacher and 3-8 art teacher at the private Catholic school, said they decided to create a pen-pal program with Oak Grove Center and Mount Saint Joseph Residences.

This Friday, February 12th enjoy a virtual concert featuring live performances by Bryan Lanning, and our former Radio 94/5 Rising Star Champion Joanna Pearl.
There is no cost to enjoy the show. Food packages are available for purchase and feature Wine and Brisket for two or Beer and Pizza for up to 4.
Funds raised will bring music to help at-risk and special needs youth at Oak Grove Center.
Support local musicians and help keep the local scene alive.
