NEW CUMBERLAND The Hancock County Board of Education gave its final approval on the 2021-22 school year calendar, announced a proposed property transaction would not be moving forward and addressed several personnel issues.
Following two public hearings and a survey, the board Monday approved the school calendar proposed by Superintendent Dawn Petrovich. During a series of meetings held last week, Petrovich explained she used responses from the survey to craft the calendar, which must still be approved by the state Board of Education.
Board President Danny Kaser explained a property issue, which had been listed for discussion and possible approval as part of Monday’s agenda would not be going forward.
