WELLSVILLE William E. “Bill” Wells, 72, of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born October 8, 1948, in Chester, West Virginia, the son of the late Guy H. Wells and the late Freda M. (Nally) and Donald Williams. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two brothers: Lloyd Wells and Russell Fiest.
Bill graduated from Oak Glen High School in 1966, and he went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1968-1971 during the Vietnam War. He was employed for twenty-five years as a heavy machinery mechanic supervisor for Standard Slag. He then worked for seven years as a supervisor at International Mill Service, and most recently for ten years as an associate at Roberts Funeral Home. Bill loved to work on anything with a motor, and he could always be found in his garage working on his latest mechanical project. Bill was Christian by faith and was saved by his Lord
The following high schools and colleges have announced their 2021 graduation ceremony schedule:
⢠West Liberty University: Graduate students, 5 p.m. Friday; undergraduate students, Saturday (College of Education and Human Performance and the College of Liberal Arts, 10 a.m.; College of Sciences, noon; College of Arts and Communication, the Gary E. West College of Business and the School of Professional Studies, 3 p.m. All ceremonies will be held at the Academic, Sports and Recreation Complex.
⢠Bethany College: 10 a.m., Saturday, Bison Stadium.
⢠West Virginia Northern Community College: 7 p.m. May 14, Wheeling Island Stadium.
⢠Franciscan University of Steubenville: Baccalaureate Mass, 6 p.m. May 14; Science departments commencement, 9 a.m., May 15; arts departments commencement, 1 p.m. May 15. Commencement ceremonies will be held in the Finnegan Fieldhouse.

Cody Lee Wayne Taylor, of New Cumberland, WV, a kind-hearted, intelligent son, grandson, brother, and uncle passed away Wednesday from complications associated with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He was 22.
Cody was born in Weirton, WV on August 21, 1998, to Jerome and Lorie Tingler Taylor.
Cody was a 2017 graduate of Oak Glen High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He continued his education as an accounting major at the West Virginia Northern Community College. In college, he maintained a 4.0 plus GPA and was on the President’s List. While in college he was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity and participated in student government on the Activity Board of the Weirton Campus. Cody was also the recipient of the Business and Student Leadership Award.
