September. In chesapeake a home was destroyed by fire late last night. Crews were called to a home on laurel avenue just after nine last night. That s in the indian river section. It took crews about 20minutes to get the fire under control. No one was hurt, but the two People Living there won t be able to stay there. No word on what caused the fire. Police are looking for the person who shot a man in newport news. Officers were out patrolling last night when they heard several gunshots. Officers then got a call of a shooting on 31st and oak avenue when they got there they found a 25year old man shot. He was conscious but was taken to the hospital and may not if you have any information call the crime line. Wednesday. A gusty south wind will push temperatures into the 70s again.
