slamming the d.a. and her case saying he didn t tamper with the election. joining us now nbc news correspondent blayne alexander who is right outside the fulton county courthouse, and dave aronberg, state attorney for palm beach county, florida. what to we know about how today and this week will play out near where you are? reporter: we re already seeing a lot of movement. we ve been watching the inside, the outside of the courthouse for the better part of the morning. this morning, though, we are starting to see some of the witnesses, some of the people that we know have been called to testify before the grand jury this week as part of fani willis s presentation. we have seen them in the courthouse walking toward the d.a. s offices. the two of them are key people, two former state lawmakers here in georgia. both of them were in the presentations, these kind of now infamous presentations that rudy giuliani made before a panel of lawmakers espousing a number of since debunked claims a
legislation. nancy pelosi should pass the legislation but all it takes is a phone call by joe biden to garland to enforce the law. there is a federal law that you can t protest in front of supreme court justice s house. garland didn t wait for legislation when the school board called him. he wrote a memo within days to the f.b.i. telling them to swing into action and no federal laws involved there. those were local statutes and police matters. here you have a federal statute which says you cannot tamper with supreme court justices just like you can t tamper with yit necessarys or jurors. you can t threaten them or protest outside their home. he is not enforcing it. he doesn t need legislation to do it. he can order it to be done tomorrow and they say quite the opposite. they re not enforcing it and peaceful protests, no problem. that s not the way you do things. harris: you know, i wonder if there is a way to legally hold this administration accountable.
release. according to special counsel s office, manafort has attempted o tamper with potential witnesses for his upcoming trial. the prosecutors are alleging in this filing that after he was hit with a second round of indictments in february manafort appears to have contacted former business associates, people who may have been party to some of the activity the special counsel has been investigating and the special counsel has charged against him. these are potential witnesses in the mueller investigation or for manafort s trial. according to prosecutors tonight, manafort contacted those witnesses by phone and also by using an encrypted messaging service. they have filed as an exhibit along with their filing tonight a log of the phone calls that were made by manafort and on his behalf and the messages that he sent. according to prosecutors, one witness manafort allegedly contacted has told the special counsel that at least from the witness s point of view these calls and messages from
