New Zealand is sending 100,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses and additional financial support to Fiji for nursing staff.
NZ’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nanaia Mahuta says New Zealand has funded 100,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine directly from the Spanish government in order to meet Fiji’s immediate vaccine requirements and the vaccines will arrive in Fiji later today.

Japan is making progress toward joining the Anglophone worldâs post-war spying network known as Five Eyes, according to Japanâs ambassador to Australia.
âI am very much optimistic about the near future,â said Shingo Yamagami, who took up his post in December, 2020. He said he âwould like to see this idea become reality in the near futureâ.
Australia and New Zealand in 1956 joined the US, Britain and Canada to complete the Five Eyes group and that was the last time any new member was admitted.
