Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Floyd Green, says $650 million is to be spent to rehabilitate farm roads across the island this financial year.
Green said the improvements should benefit more than 2,000 farmers and farm families across rural communities through increased access to markets and ease of transportation of goods and services.
He was making his contribution to the 2021-2022 Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, May 12.
He noted that the Farm Road Programme has been revamped to target a minimum of one farm road per farming constituency, which is/are selected after consultation with the Members of Parliament (MP).
