Ava Callender Concepcion appointed to Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission, filling public safety seat

Concepcion, of Dorchester, was appointed by the office of Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey.
Most recently, Concepcion served as the director of governmental affairs and external partnerships for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office, where she advised on legislation and policy, Healey’s office said in a statement.
“Ava brings a strong background in public safety and experience working with a range of stakeholders including law enforcement, advocacy organizations, and constituents on important policy matters,”
Healey said. “As a lifelong resident of Boston, Ava has dedicated her career to social justice and her perspective will be extremely valuable to the Commission in promoting safety, equity, and opportunity.”
Nurys Z. Camargo and Bruce Stebbins appointed to Cannabis Control Commission; the pair to serve five-year terms

The Cannabis Control Commission will be gaining two new members serving five-year terms beginning in January, according to Gov. Charlie Baker’s office.
The Baker administration, with Treasurer Deborah Goldberg and Attorney General Maura Healey, announced the appointments of Nurys Z. Camargo and Bruce Stebbins to the five-member panel, which oversees policy, business licenses, farming and outdoor cultivation in the rapidly emerging cannabis industry.
“Nurys Camargo and Bruce Stebbins each bring unique experience and knowledge to the Cannabis Control Commission and I am confident they’ll serve the people of our state well in these positions,” Attorney General Maura Healey said in a statement.
