People from different walks of life including teachers, political leaders and activists yesterday demanded judicial probe into the death of writer Mushtaq Ahmed in custody and abolition of the Digital Security Act.
They also demanded that those members of the law enforcement agencies accused of torturing Mushtaq and cartoonist Ahmed Kishore, be tried under law.

DHAKA, Dec 20, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Akhtaruzzaman today said members of Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) should depict the actual scenario before the nation maintaining objectivity.
“Students of the university who work as university correspondents for different media houses during their academic life play a pioneering role in media industries after their academic life. When we met the media persons, they applauded the expertise and quality of our students, especially those who did campus reporting”, he said.
He was addressing a seminar titled ‘The Pathways of Mass media During Post Pandemic Period’ organised by DUJA at university’s Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate bhaban.
