MARTINSBURG â One Morgan County resident was left injured after a residential structure fire believed to be caused by ignited Christmas decorations engulfed the home.
According to a press release shared on the Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Company Facebook page, units were called to respond to a residential structure fire on Grove Heights Road on Monday around 7:46 p.m.
The release said Wagon 1 from Berkeley Springs VFC responded at 7:54 p.m., followed by Engine 12 and Rescue Squad 1. Wagon 1 was the first-arriving suppression apparatus and arrived moments after Morgan County EMS Medic 7-1, the release said.
âAn off duty paramedic on the scene was reporting the residence to be evacuated and informed incoming crews of fire showing on side Delta at the Delta / Charlie corner,â the release said. âWagon 1 arrived shortly after the report and initially advanced an attack line to the Delta side to begin knocking the fire.â
