Shah Rukh Khan s film Jawan debuted at number four on the highest-earning films list in the United States. It collected an estimated USD 2.5 million over the weekend, bringing its total box office collection in the US to around USD 9-10 million. The film aims to surpass the USD 17 million earnings of SRK s previous release Pathaan . Jawan has also earned approximately Rs 800 crore (USD 96 million) worldwide. Other films performing well at the US box office include The Nun 2 and A Haunting in Venice .
Despite poor reviews, Nun 2 has garnered 32 million dollars in its first weekend in North America. The film opened in 3,728 theatres and surpassed the opening collection of Equalizer 3.
