Man fatally shot outside central Corpus Christi business is identified

The 29-year-old man shot outside of a central city business last week has been identified. Around 5:03 a.m. Thursday, Corpus Christi police arrived at the 2800 block of Ruth Street for a shooting. Officers witnessed citizens performing CPR on a 29-year-old victim. The man was taken to a nearby hospital and died from his injuries several hours later. The Nueces County Medical Examiner s Office identified the man as Richard Gonzalez. While investigating, officers learned a disturbance had happened inside of the business, which escalated outside and the suspect fled the scene. Senior Officer Travis Pace said  police are investigating leads, but have no information on the suspect.

Female dead body found in Robstown identified

Nueces Country Record Star An update from the Robstown Police Department (RPD) was released on Thursday, Feb. 11 involving the dead female body found near the railroad tracks on County Road 67. The body was identified by the decedent’s husband through body art as 29-year-old Lariza Ledesma Feliz from the Dominican Republic. On Feb. 4, law enforcement was notified that a woman s body was found in a ditch.    A preliminary investigation and autopsy by Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office indicated no evidence of foul play. Medical Examiner estimates body was out there for a week, stated Robstown Police Department Sgt. Arturo Gonzalez.

According to the Nueces County Medical Examiner s Office, Jacob Soliz, 21, died due to blunt force trauma. According to the Corpus Christi police, the crash happened Tuesday evening near the intersection of Saratoga and Aaron Drive. Investigators said Soliz was riding the motorcycle, traveling with excessive speed at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday before he T-boned into a truck that was turning onto Aaron Drive. Just because you re on a motorcycle doesn t mean you can go fast, Corpus Christi Police Department Capt. Timothy Frazier said. You ve got to be more cognizant of traffic than cars because you don t have a metal cage around you. We ask you to watch your speed so the roads can be safe for everybody.
