Energy plan should not be swayed by political wrangling The state audit agency has concluded that there were no procedural problems in the Moon Jae-in administration s nuclear phase-out policy. Announcing the results of its inspection Friday, the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI) said it found no illegalities or procedural flaws in its review. The audit was prompted by a request in June 2019 from Jeong Kap-yoon, a former opposition lawmaker, and 546 other people who claimed there had been violations in the course of reviewing the state energy plan. The BAI decided to push forward with its inspection three months later, but the probe was not launched until January this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic and another investigation concerning the government s controversial decision to close the country s second-oldest Wolsong-1 nuclear reactor.
