Mr. Cornyn madam president , yesterday the Senate Overwhelmingly voted to proceed to the National Defense authorization act by a vote of 868. Excuse me, 866. Thats about as overwhelming a bipartisan vote as weve had lately, and its for good reason. Like its immediate predecessor, this bills overarching objective is to reorient the department of defense toward the great power of competition that our nation faces today. Overall, the bill supports a total of 750 billion in defense spending which includes 642 billion for the department of defense based budget, 23 billion for the department of energies defense activity and another 76 billion for overseas contingency operation. This means the level of spending requested by the president and provides the department of defense with real growth. That evening on the 7th, i went to Mclaren Lodge where there was the park and tree lighting, and then, on the 11th, i had a meeting with raiders that had been brought in, people that had expertise in the field of Fire Investigation and Fire Prevention. They bring colleagues in from throughout the nation to kpum in and score exams, so they had expertise in those areas to score the lieutenants exam for the bureau of fire chiefs and bureau of Fire Investigation. I believe we had 33 people take the h22, bureau of fire presentation exam, and then, 13 participated in the h24 over at the bureau of Fire Investigation exam. And also in the last period, we had the full h20 exam administered. Its the lieutenants exam. There was three parts to it, and my understanding is there was roughly about 250 that that took all three parts of the exam, so were awaiting results in the new year on both of those exams. And i believe that concludes my report. Thank you. Thank you, chi

He says we must prevent weapons being used against us and around the world. For that matter. We have done a lot in the Homeland Security space. I should note that
