To recall, Badoy alleged that Vice President Robredo is a supporter of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People s Army, without offering any evidence except for expressions of support from groups belonging to the left side of the political spectrum and her willingness to resume peace talks with rebel groups.
"He risked his life so many times when he was still an . officer fighting the communist rebels and urban insurgents and the worst that anyone can do is to accuse him of protecting them," Lacson, a former chief of the PNP, said.
"By utilizing the infrastructure of state media for purposes of influencing the minds of voters vis-a-vis the May 9, 2022 elections, Undersecretary Badoy has besmirched the reputation of her fellow public servant in the process," the petitions read.
The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) on Wednesday said the Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC)’s declaration of 16 organizations allied with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines as terrorist groups was “arbitrary and baseless.”
Senator Ping Lacson said on Friday that he will push for the participation of local governments in combating insurgency in conflict-ridden areas, if he wins the presidency.
