The mass burial of around 87 bodies was held amid prohibitory orders on Wednesday at Churachandpur, the epicentre of the ethnic clashes. Funeral service was held for the bodies which were flown in from the morgues in Imphal. Most of the deceased were from the Kuki-Zo tribes.
