Maritime and energy trailblazers will gather, both physically and digitally, at Nor-Shipping’s Ocean Now next week to assess the potential, risks and rewards of backing hydrogen as shipping’s future fuel. A who’s who of leading stakeholders are now confirmed as participants at Nor-Shipping Hydrogen Blue Talks – Fuelling the Future, a new hybrid global conference taking place on 2 June. The latest names have just been announced for two key sessions – Real Transformers and Gamechangers.

The initiative will take place in front of a live audience at Nor-Shipping’s Nova Studios in Lillestrøm, Norway, while also beaming out digitally to global ticket holders. Participants will join both in person and, where necessary, on screen. Nor-Shipping welcomes world to Ocean Now
Nor-Shipping is getting ready to open its digital doors to the industry, with the new Ocean Now initiative launching next week. The two-day, hybrid activity programme is free to all, with content designed to deliver value, insights, analysis, and even a little light entertainment to everyone with a commercial interest in the ocean space. Ocean Now will also build excitement for Nor-Shipping 2022 – the first ‘winter’ Nor-Shipping, taking place 10-13 January in Oslo and Lillestrøm, Norway.
“Originally, 1 June was set as the date of Nor-Shipping 2021, but, of course, the pandemic put paid to those plans,” comments Per Martin Tanggaard, Nor-Shipping Director. “So, we wanted to create something to help fill the gap left by the lack of physical gatherings, providing an event where the industry can tap into the latest developments, access opportunity, and continue collaborating. Ocean Now is the result.”

A broad spectrum of key ocean stakeholders will descend on Oslo, both digitally and physically, on 1 June to discuss how accelerating the move to sustainable ocean business can help the world deliver on the Paris Agreement. The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) has teamed up with Nor-Shipping, which is running the Ocean Now initiative on 1-2 June, to host the “Driving Ambition for Shipping at COP26” panel debate. With free live digital coverage online, the event will provide insights tailored to enabling both commercial and environmental progress, while building up to the UN High Level Meeting on SDG14 (Life Below Water) following directly afterwards in New York.
Nor-Shipping to identify post-pandemic potential on new industry talk show
In a world of continuing uncertainty, Nor-Shipping is calling on industry experts to assess today’s market and tomorrow’s post-pandemic potential in its new online talk show, airing on 1 June. The Today Show by Nor-Shipping has already confirmed DNB CEO Kjerstin Braathen and DNV counterpart Remi Eriksen as key guests, and today reveals that Jarand Rystad, CEO Rystad Energy, and Dag Kilen, Head of Research at Fearnleys, will be heading to the Oslo studio for a special “market report” segment.
