The grand finals of the 69th Miss Universe Competition will be held on May 16 (May 17 in Manila).

Bernardo, who finished 1st runner-up during the Miss Grand International 2020, shared this via Instagram Stories on May 5 which had since been expired on the platform.
Some Facebook pages dedicated to beauty pageant conversations managed to make screenshots of these post and shared them on the platform.
“Please let’s stop hate. Let’s focus on supporting our queens without putting others down. I believe and I truly support Rabiya Mateo. She can win and be the next Miss Universe because she is smart, beautiful and purposeful,” Bernardo said.
Nova Stevens reacts to racist remarks with a powerful message!

Miss Universe Canada 2020 Nova Stevens finally responded to all the negative, racist remarks she received.
After being termed scary, ghost, and burnt chicken, Nova took to social media, calling out the racist fans for their ignorant and racist ideologies. She wrote, Here we go again. I ve been receiving this picture in my inbox a lot lately. With all that has been going on in the world, black lives matter Asians are human, you would think this would bring us together. Instead, it looks like some people are still stuck in their ignorant and racist ideologies.

Miss Universe Canada Nova Stevens has picked Dubai-based Filipino couturier Michael Cinco to create her gowns for the upcoming pageant.
Stevens on Instagram gave audiences a sneak peek of Cinco’s creations she will be wearing, which includes a studded black form-fitting gown and a sparkly red dress.

“Can you guess which gowns I will be wearing at Miss Universe from Michael Cinco?” Nova Stevens wrote in the video caption on April 28, 2021.
Netizens deemed her action brainless, disgusting.
Asked one, “Racist ka ghorl?”
“Dinadamay mo pa si Miss Canada sa kaartehan mo,” said another.
But did she really mention Nova in her post?
A quick peek at the Facebook post in question revealed nothing of note.
In it, she simply thanked her sponsor, going on to promote the supposed health benefits of glutathione.
“Hindi lang naman pampaputi ang gluta kundi nililinis din nito ang inyong kidney at liver,” she wrote.
Apparently, the post has been altered.
An enterprising netizen, however, was quick enough to grab the original.
In it she wrote, “Nakakalungkot ‘di ba, dahil kung si Miss Canada e hindi nakaligtas sa mga mapanlait na mata, mukhang kailangan ko ng araw-arawin magpa-gluta…”
