The Detroit Fall Beer Festival is back after being cancelled last year due to COVID-19. Our mission as the Michigan Brewers Guild is to promote and protect the Michigan beer industry, said Scott Graham, brewers guild executive director. Taking place in the city s Eastern Market on Oct. 23, The Detroit Fall Beer Festival tickets go on sale Aug. 5. With COVID-19, it has been over a year without having any of our beer festivals, Graham said. First and foremost, they re to showcase a number of breweries and their beer, but they re also important fundraisers for our nonprofit organization.

A couple storms in northeast Wayne County resulted in localized flash flooding, causing basements to flood again before they fully recovered from the last storm.
A 20-minute downpour caused several inches to accumulate, according to a Facebook post.
The National Weather Service radar estimated between 1 to 2 inches of rain accumulation from the northeast corner of Detroit, the southern portion of Harper Woods, into Grosse Pointe Farms, said Steve Considine, a meteorologist in NWS s White Lake office. The storm primarily took place between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The road is completely flooded at the intersection of Hillcrest Street and Frankfort Avenue in Detroit, said local resident Anthony Mason.
