As we take our rain-spattered seats in front of an open-air stage in Hyde Park, it’s hard to resist the comedy of the moment. Filmy ponchos are on, plastic cups of prosecco are being gently diluted by fat rain drops. It’s basically a festival . if you squint.
On another day, the pop-up space of the Sunset Piazza, in front of the gothic drama of St Mary’s Cathedral, would have been washed with golden evening light, the sun winking below the surface of the CBD skyline as the show kicked off at 8pm.
