Norwell Police Officer Joseph Esposito was on his routine patrol roughly 30 minutes after midnight Thursday when he noticed an unusual sight: either steam or smoke pouring excessively out of a home’s roof.
Esposito soon realized there were flames in the attic of the River Street home. He alerted the town’s fire department about the blaze and then helped firefighters successfully evacuate the family from the house, rescuing three children and a dog.
