Conversations with the President

Northwestern Now In his 22nd Conversations with the President event Tuesday (April 13) held remotely for the second consecutive year due to COVID-19 safety precautions Northwestern University President Morton Schapiro reflected on the pandemic’s impact on campus safety, what we’ve learned as an institution and where we’re headed as restrictions begin to loosen.   “I think one of the safest places in the world has been Northwestern, and we have the numbers to show that,” President Schapiro said, referencing the low positivity rate on campus since students returned for Winter Quarter (only 567 positive cases out of 145,000 COVID tests) and the increase in vaccinations received by members of the Northwestern community both on and off campus.

Conversations with the President set for April 13

Northwestern Now April 05, 2021 Members of the Northwestern community are invited to participate in this year’s Conversations with the President for a discussion about the current state of the University and future plans.  The event, Tuesday, April 13, at 10 a.m., is hosted by the Northwestern University Staff Advisory Council (NUSAC) in partnership with the Office of the President.  While the format for this event will be remote, as it was in 2020, organizers are looking forward to a meaningful discussion with President Morton Schapiro and a panel of senior leaders. “This year has been a time of change, and we have adapted to a new normal and shown incredible resiliency,” said NUSAC Chair Nate Daigle. “We look forward to coming together to share a conversation with our leaders on topics that mean the most to us.”
