A Rogue Road Trip

A Rogue Road Trip By Rebecca Scott A wonderland of wine, artisan food and outdoor recreation awaits travelers who visit Medford. Affectionately known as the “Heart of the Rogue,” the city remains a viticultural oasis and a launch pad into extraordinary adventure. Wine Country for Miles A wine lover’s dream, Rogue Valley Wine Country is recognized around the world for its boutique, award-winning wines. In addition, Medford was recently named one of two wine capitals in Oregon by Northwest Travel & Life Magazine. Some 70 miles wide by 60 miles long, the state’s southernmost appellation contains three river valleys: Bear Creek, Applegate and Illinois. For wine tourists, four distinct tasting trails Upper Rogue, Bear Creek, Jacksonville and Applegate make for easy navigation.

Best Places To Explore In Central Oregon

Feb.19.2021 The high desert of Central Oregon offers a reprieve from bad weather with a typical 300 days of sunshine a year. The vast open spaces surrounded by mountains provide 360-degree views with remarkable sunrises and sunsets. The largest city in the area is Bend, known as the beer capital of Oregon. It is also known as the place you go to play due to the many outdoor activities available. Charming small towns such as Redmond, Sisters, La Pine, Madras, and Warm Springs are each unique and within a short drive from each other. Choose one town as your base and then explore all the area has to offer.

5 Charming Small Towns To Visit Along The Oregon Coast

5 Charming Small Towns To Visit Along The Oregon Coast Feb.7.2021 I love the Oregon Coast and the drive along Highway 101. The beaches vary between long stretches of packed sand you can drive on to epic, rocky cliffs with crashing waves. You will also see plenty of sea stacks, which are large stacks of rocks that were once part of the coastline. The most iconic is Haystack Rock, located on Cannon Beach. As you work your way south along Highway 101, you won’t find crowded, large, resort beach towns. Instead, you will pass through charming small towns that make this such a unique beach experience. The five towns I have profiled all have a special place in my heart, whether it is for a small local business or a geological feature that stands out.
