Prineville man faces attempted murder charge after shooting January 06 2021

A Prineville man is facing an attempted murder charge following a shooting Wednesday afternoon that seriously wounded his son.
Crook County Sheriff s Office deputies were initially dispatched to a Northwest Madras Highway location to respond to a report of a trespass in progress. Before deputies arrived, the call was upgraded to a report of a shooting with the victim fleeing into a wooded area along the property.
When deputies arrived on scene, they determined that 77-year-old Pete Sharp had shot his 35-year-old son, Johnathan Sharp. Pete Sharp was detained at the scene without incident, pending investigation.
