United Community Action Partnership plans to build a 12-unit development to house families experiencing homelessness who are working with the nonprofit to find permanent housing.
The October “Walk-in Watertown” recruiting and hiring event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Job Service Office at 2001 9th Ave.

While many of Salmela s clients can afford the best design that money can buy, one of his latest is a St. Paul nonprofit that has hired him to design more than a dozen modular, solar-powered houses that are being craned into place on a redevelopment site in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the city.
