Rhode, Thomas E. 90, of Crystal, MN passed away peacefully at home on November 28, 2021. Tom was born on September 11, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN to Bernard “Ben” and Kathleen (Marshall) Rhode. Tom attended DeLaSalle High School and graduated (1948) with a trade in Sheet Metal Fabrication from Vocational School. Tom enlisted in the U.S. Navy and trained at Great Lakes, Illinois (1949). He served 23 years where he served in various U.S. locations and Cuba; also held Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserves until he retired in 1972. Tom became a partner in Plymouth Our Own Hardware store with his father (Ben) until 1971. In 1972, Tom founded the company, Rhode’s Lock and Glass, a family owned business which is still in operation today. He was an active member for Northside Lions, Northside Business, American Legion Post 251 and Knights of Columbus Council 3656, and Minnesota and National Chapters of Associated Locksmiths of America.
