Springfield Fortnightly Musical Club offers college scholarship
Two former members of the music club have made the scholarship possible.
Criteria include that the applicant must be a high school senior who resides in Clark County and attends a public or private school in Clark County, or Fairborn High school in Greene County. He or she must plan to major in music in a college or university program after graduation.
The applicant must also give a live performance of two compositions of contrasting styles for judges selected by the Springfield Music Club. The total length of the performance should not exceed 10 minutes.
Joyce Ann Davidson, 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
Joyce was born on August 7, 1937, to Franz Barkowsky and Anna Monthey Barkowsky.
Joyce was born on the family farm near Sparenburg, TX. She lived many years on her farm and adored country living. Joyce worked and retired from Farm Credit Bank in Lamesa. Also, Joyce was an active member of Northridge United Methodist Church for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Melinda Gaddis, and son-in-law, Rick, of Edmond, OK. Grandson Ryan Gaddis and his wife, Rachel, of Dallas, TX. Grandson Daniel Gaddis of Oklahoma City, OK.
Joyce was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed all things on the farm including dogs, livestock, cotton, and introducing her grandkids to life outside of the city. Joyce will be remembered for her caring and Christian nature. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
