Northland Inc, the region’s Economic Development
Agency, led a business start-up event earlier this month at
The Orchard business and event hub in Whangārei, where
eight teams pitched their business models to a panel of 14
experts. The purpose of the event was for new business
operators to receive valuable feedback from experienced
Northlanders to support growth in their business.
This
event was the pinnacle of a 12-week coaching programme, in
which problems, barriers and new skills were workshopped and
developed by businesses with the support of Te Tai Tokerau
Growth Accelerator Programme delivered by Northland

Northland has been named in TIME’s third annual list of
the World’s Greatest Places.
The list highlights
unique destinations from all over the world from hugely
popular tourist hot spots like Cairo, Athens and New York
City to less known, off the beaten track locales like the
Portuguese town of Arouca.

Kaipara Kai Hub is to host an incredible line-up of guest
speakers at their site during the Northland Field Days in
Dargaville on March 4-6.
The Kai Kōrero pop-up event
will showcase a range of industry leaders, who will share
their aspirations to support kai production in Te Tai
Tokerau. The topics will cover water storage, emerging
crops, workforce development, regenerative agriculture, and
market access.
In addition to the event at the field
days, Kaipara Kai Hub is organising a visit to the Te Kopuru
trial site on Thursday, March 4 from 10am-12noon. Plant

Northland’s Digital Enablement Group
(DEG), in collaboration with the region’s four councils
– Northland Regional Council, the Far North, Kaipara, and
Whangarei District Councils – are calling on communities
to help shape Northland’s digital future by completing the
fifth annual Northland Internet Speed
Survey.
