Genome sequencing linked the pair of new Covid-19 cases – an adult and a child – to the same strain of the virus detected at the Pullman Hotel.
The Ministry of Health said it had found no evidence of community transmission from the new Covid-19 cases. Investigations are continuing into how they caught the virus.

Hopes of the Transtasman travel bubble reopening look to be hanging by a thread after the discovery of two new community cases in Auckland.
Test results last night confirmed that two people who completed their managed isolation at the Pullman Auckland hotel at the same time as the positive Northland community case were also infected.
The Ministry of Health released a list of 12 locations of interest visited by the pair on the North Shore.

Northland iwi Ngātiwai is looking at ways it can help ease some of the pressure on COVID testing centres.
Thousands of people turned up for tests yesterday after a woman tested positive after leaving managed isolation and quarantine, and some were turned away after waiting for up to seven hours.
Ngātiwai chair Aperahama Edwards says there was a lack of water, toilets and other basic services for those waiting in queues. We ve initiated discussions around collaboration and today we will be rolling out some of the initial collaborative efforts to provide some support and relief and manaaki to whānau who are at the testing centres and to staff manning those centres, he says.
