Bay Area residents hoping to take advantage of outdoor dining this weekend may want to bring a jacket or a blanket. A cold front was expected to settle over the region Friday evening, bringing chilly temperatures after weeks of warm sunshine, meteorologists said.
The cold front was expected to usher in a brief spell of scattered showers beginning Friday evening and lasting until early Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Northern Sonoma County was likely to see the most rain an estimated three-quarters of an inch with slightly less for the rest of the North Bay and coastal mountain ranges.
