A Memorial Day service is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. May 31 at Veterans Memorial Park in Parma. And the Fourth of July parade will be back, but it will take place on July 3. A virtual landlord and tenant training session is planned for 6-8 p.m. June 8 on the Zoom platform. Watch for the Zoo link to be posted that day on the city’s website.

The North Ridgeville Community Garden is currently accepting registrations for the upcoming season. The garden is located along Chestnut Ridge Road across from Alternate State Route 83 (near the exit at Ohio 10). Deadline to register for a plot at the North Ridgeville Community Garden is May 15. Applications for North Ridgeville residents are currently being accepted through May 15 for the Community Garden. Things may be a bit tricky this year as construction will soon begin on the new roundabout in that area. A temporary drive and parking will be provided on the west side of the project along Chestnut Ridge Road for access to the Community Garden. When the project is completed, a drive and parking area on the north side of the roundabout will provide access to the Community Garden.

I have always said that I didn’t have much money to donate, but I could donate my time. It’s led to some really wonderful, sometimes eye-opening experiences. There are so many great ways to volunteer your time, a monetary donation or both. Each week, there’s almost always a chance to read about what’s available to us.

Red Cross goes to new location | News, Sports, Jobs

bcoupland@tribtoday.com LIBERTY The American Red Cross of Greater Akron and the Mahoning Valley will be moving its operations to a new location for the new year after having been located off Belmont Avenue for several years. Rachel Telegdy, executive director of the chapter, said the headquarters will move from Liberty to a new site at 25 N. Canfield Niles Road, Suite 140, in Austintown on Jan. 4. She said the move will not the change the area it serves nor will it affect local services or the ability to respond to needs. “There will be no interruption of services. We will be operating out of the Belmont Avenue location through Jan. 4. We will continue to provide services on the day we are moving. There is no time for a day off. When there is a fire or any type of emergency, we are there helping,” she said.
