Yesterday, Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee said an app that can show proof of a resident's COVID-19 vaccination status should be ready in a couple of weeks. State businesses can decide whether they require such proof.
Gov. Dan McKee said the state will soon allow residents to prove their vaccination status with an app, which will be voluntary and businesses will still decide if they want to require proof of vaccination.
LINCOLN Debra Reddy has taken physical education outdoors.
Worried that COVID-19 would turn her students into couch potatoes, Reddy, a physical education teacher at Northern Lincoln Elementary School, has turned the wooded hills behind the school into a winter fitness club.
A health and fitness enthusiast, Reddy, hopes that if children are exposed to a variety of sports early on, exercise and the outdoors will become a regular habit once they become adults.
“I’m a big outdoors person,” said Reddy, a 35-year-old teaching veteran. “I want them to have an appreciation of being outside. My other theme is sports. My kids learn all of the sports, starting with lacrosse. My philosophy is if I start them young, by middle school they are going to want to play.”
