Experts gathered in Kathmandu for the first-ever Inter-Polar Conference, organized jointly by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland. They called for regional cooperation and sharing of insights between the Arctic and the Hindu Kush Himalayas, as both regions are facing temperature rise and the thawing of the cryosphere. The conference aims to bridge the knowledge gap and find sustainable solutions to the common challenges brought about by climate change in these extreme regions.
