TODAY, I am glad to share with you our Postcards from the Future for Clark Freeport Zone. Located in the heart of the Central Luzon region, Clark Freeport Zone is an emerging business and leisure hub of the 21st century. It is planned to become the highly awaited aerotropolis, or airport-driven city and smart city, in our country.
An aerotropolis is a metropolitan subregion whose infrastructure, land use and economy are centered on a major airport. An efficient aerotropolis optimizes connectivity and gives higher returns to the airport, its users, surrounding communities, and the region where it is located. In the book Aerotropolis, airports can be a main driving force of urban development and can form local economic growth, business, and international economic integration. A primary component of an aerotropolis is its efficient accessibility through transit-oriented development (TOD).
