MP nominates North Devon champions for Levelling Up Awards

The Levelling Up Goals Awards recognise those people and organisations that are committed to boosting opportunity and helping to level up the UK in the wake of Covid-19. MPs throughout the UK nominated organisations from their constituencies for the 14 different award categories which are focused on equality of opportunity at key life stages. Ms. Saxby nominated Petroc for the ‘Positive Destinations Post 16+’ category, she said: “Petroc and their excellent Principal have actively engaged and embraced Kickstart and initiated several work-related skills programmes with the community. Covid-19: North Devon records zero weekly cases, data suggests Published image copyrightGetty Images image captionNorth Devon has seen 1,953 cases of coronavirus since the pandemic began as of 14 April Part of Devon has become the first place in England this year to record no coronavirus cases in a week. Figures from Public Health England show between 3-9 April the North Devon District Council area recorded no new cases. The last area to do so was neighbouring Torridge, from 13-19 September. A local NHS spokesman urged people to continue to observe government guidelines on wearing masks and social distancing. More recent provisional data for the 10-12 April suggests three new cases were recorded in the area, ending the district s seven-day streak.
