Caraga region records 95 new COVID-19 cases

(MANILA BULLETIN) The regional office of the Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) based here said, of these new cases, 39 were from Agusan del Sur, 17 from Butuan City, 15 from Agusan del Norte, eight from Surigao del Sur, six from Surigao del Norte, five from Cabadbaran City, two each form the cities of Bayugan and Tandag, and one from Bislig City.  Caraga region now has a total of 5,721 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 684 active cases and 254 deaths. With this new development, health authorities on appealed to Caraganons to continue to adhere to all health protocols as the number of infections from the deadly virus continued to rise in Caraga region, particularly in Agusan del Sur province.

3 children drown, another missing while fishing in Cabadbaran river

Published January 14, 2021, 11:52 AM BUTUAN CITY – Three children drowned while another remains missing due to rampaging flood waters in Cabadbaran River in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte. The identities of the victims were withheld as search and rescue operations continued for the remaining boy by the personnel of the disaster risk reduction and management council (DRRMC), according to Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Police Office (PPO) Director Col. Martin M. Gamba. The bodies of the three victims who are brothers were found by the rescue team within a quarry area at the side of Cabadbaran River in Barangay Mabini, on Wednesday.

Army, PNP Caraga on full alert ahead of CPP Anniversary

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports reaching the police said four died in Surigao del Sur due to the flash floods, while two were killed in Agusan del Sur. DSWD Field Office Caraga Officer-In-Charge Ramel F. Jamen said 1,686 families or 7,308 individuals were still staying at evacuation centers in Caraga region, while 2,281 families or 8,361 individuals, were staying with relatives or friends.
