TUPELO - United Way of Northeast Mississippi allocated nearly $1.5 million in grants to 53 nonprofit organizations Tuesday evening, kicking off another two-year grant cycle.
TUPELO • United Way of Northeast Mississippi on Tuesday honored a volunteer who has served her community both behind the scenes and in front of the camera.
⢠United Way of Northeast Mississippi is sounding a call to action for donors.
Ticket sales for the nonprofitâs annual $50K Giveaway, which builds the funding base used to bolster fellow charitable organizations across the area, will end Sunday at 10:30 p.m., and the group is approximately $200,000 shy of their annual campaign goal of $2.6 million.
The nonprofit hopes to reach their goal so they can fully fund over 60 programs in the eight counties they serve.
âRight now we are in the final stretch of our campaign ⦠and thereâs lots of ways to reach that goal,â said Mary Ann Plasencia, Director of Community Impact. âIf we havenât heard from you as a leadership giver, if we havenât heard from you as a giver through your workplace, if we havenât heard from you as a $50K giveaway ticket buyer, we really need to hear from you.â
