Question of whether vaccinations should be required for schoolchildren is up for a vote in the state senate. A controversial bill would eliminate exemptions for personal or religious beliefs. Thanks to some political maneuvering this bill is fast tracked through sacramento and could be voted in the senate today. Antivaccination parents have been flooding the capital in recent weeks. They say this latest move is cheating the law making system. The authors of senate bill 277 amended it so that it wont cost anything. They got rid of the portion that would have required schools to notify parents of vaccination rates.
